Liebig 915 BT 2 Customs and Traditions in the Alps - kopie

This atmospheric Liebig chromo series – Sanguinetti no. 915 – was issued in 1907 under the title Us et coutumes dans les Alpes. It includes six richly illustrated cards that depict traditional customs and landscapes from the Alpine regions. Each card is divided into two parts: a folkloric scene at the top and a majestic Alpine view at the bottom. The cards are in good condition.

• Blessing of an Alpine pasture near the Grossglockner (Austria)

• St. John's fire jumping at the Stelvio Pass (South Tyrol)

• Pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary near Hermagor (Carinthia, presumed)

• Tyrolean folk dance in Ortler (Italy)

• Parade of Tyrolean francs-tireurs at the Geisler group (Dolomites)

Each card features the iconic Liebig jar. The colors are vivid, and the scenes reflect Alpine folklore from the early 20th century.
