This original Liebig trade card series, listed as Sanguinetti no. 931, was issued in 1908 under the title Fruits et leurs ennemis du règne animal (Fruit and Its Animal Enemies).

The six colourful illustrations depict various aspects of fruit cultivation and the animals and insects that can damage fruit trees, bushes and crops.

The cards combine detailed botanical and zoological illustrations with rural scenes from the early twentieth century.

They feature the cultivation and harvesting of apples, cherries, grapes and other fruits.

An attractive and educational series offering an insight into historical fruit-growing practices and contemporary knowledge of agricultural pests.
