Côte d'Or Antarctic

A total of 164 trading cards exist featuring photographs taken during the second Belgian Antarctic Expedition (1957-1959), led by Gaston de Gerlache. It was during this expedition that the King Baudouin Base was established in Antarctica. These trading cards were issued by the well-known brand “De goede chocolade" Côte d'Or. This unique photo series, printed on glossy paper, was released in 1960.

Fun fact: The logo of this expedition was designed by Hergé.
